Is There A Need For Reekado Banks To Remix ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ With Fireboy DML?

Reekado Banks and Fireboy DML

Remixing a song with a collaboration of another musician is a good way to expand the relevance of the song and expose the song to a wider audience for better benefits.

Reekado Banks premiered his first single for 2022, a remix of his successful song, ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’, featuring YBNL talent, Fireboy DML. He released the original version of the song in October 2021, and his fans received the track with love.

The original version ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ has been enjoying gradual growth since he dropped it. However, Reekado Banks unleashed the remix five months after. The remix has Fireboy’s contributions that gave it a slightly fresh feel.

Considering the growth of Fireboy in the music industry, he is not a bad feature for any musician, but for Reekado Banks, featuring the ‘Peru’ crooner on ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe Remix’ was a needless effort, they ought to have created another song entirely.

‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ is a masterpiece on its own, considering the quality of production P. Prime gave the song Reekado Banks’ lyrics, the arrangement and the fact that he threw a jab at Burna Boy and addressed #ENDSars.

The remix for the song didn’t bring out any outstanding quality of Reekado Banks and Fireboy that we didn’t already know of. The remix itself is more like adding a new verse to an old song.

It would have been better if Reekado Banks chose an artiste who does different music genre instead of Fireboy, a vocalist who is a similar artiste to him.
