‘Even A Naughty Guy Needs God,’ Naira Marley Reflects On His Relationship With God

Naira Marley

Naira Marley has said being a “bad guy” does not stop him from having a good relationship with God.

The controversial rapper revealed this while reflecting on his relationship with God in the latest issue of Crack Magazine, which has Naira Marley on its cover page.

Naira Marley stated that Nigerian culture is wired to believe people with some personal habits, which they perceive as negatives, cannot be close to God.

In his words, the Marlian Records boss explained;

“With [Nigerian] culture, they don’t think you can have a big bum and be a godly person. They don’t think you can smoke weed and be a son of God. It’s a whole mindset.”

“I pray, I believe in God, and I know God. During Ramadan, I was fasting and it came as a shock to everybody – but I don’t understand. They think just because I like big bums and I smoke weed that I’m not a godly person. They can think I’m bad or naughty, which I understand, but even a naughty guy needs God, you know?”
