Singer Tems reflects on her time in Ugandan prison one year after

Amazing Nigerian musician Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has made her first solo debut on America’s Billboard Hot 100.

On Monday, July 25, the singer’s 2020 single, ‘Free Mind,’ charted at number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100.

With this new feat, Tems has emerged as the second Nigerian artiste to have four entries on the sought-after Billboard Hot 100 after Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.

Tems had charted on Billboard Hot 100 from her guest appearances in Drake’s ‘Fountain,’ ‘Essence’ by Wizkid, and Future’s number one single ‘Wait For U.’

Tems also broke a record as the first Nigerian female musician to cop the ‘Best International Act’ at the BET Awards 2022, which took place in June.
