Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Swallow’ And Netflix Original ‘Man of God’ Lead Nominations For AMAA 2022

Popular Nollywood filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan’s film, ‘Swallow’ and Netflix Original ‘Man of God’ produced by Nollywood filmmaker, Bolanle Austen-Peters has been reported to lead nominations for Africa Movies Academy Awards (AMAA) 2022.

The top two films on the list – ‘Swallow’ and ‘Man of God’ – each received nine nominations. 

Nominations were posted on the Africa Movies Academy Awards’ official Instagram page, citing the nominations for each movie and in which category they were nominated.

The nominees for the yearly award, which honors excellence in the African film industry, were announced by the organizers on Wednesday in Lagos.

Walter Waltbanger Taylaur film ‘Jolly Roger’ comes in a close third position with seven nominations.

The categories for Best Actress in a Supporting Role has Nse Ikpe-Etim and Ijeoma Grace Agu slugging it out for a win.

The award ceremony for this year will take place in Lagos on October 30.
