Controversial rap statement: Uche Ogbodo throws in the towel, apologizes for slamming Wizkid

Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo has tendered an heartfelt apology to music star, Wizkid and his fans, Wizkid FC, after slamming him.

It would be recalled that the mother of one lashed out following a declaration by Wizkid that rap is dead.

The thespian, however, was met with unending attacks from the singer’s fans who mocked her for being in a relationship with a younger man, who she has a kid for.

In an apology note via her Instagram story, Uche Ogbodo admitted to having overreacted in the heat of the situation. She wrote:

“I wish to Apologize to Wizkid and FC make unah no vex. I think I over reacted yesterday cos I was Angry over what I saw on the Blogs.

This War is not My War Please,let the Real Owners fight it.

I am not a rapper and my man @bobbymaris is even an afro beat singer sef

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls Uche Ogbodo came down hard on music star, Wizkid over the latter’s statement about rap music.

In a recent interview with 10 magazine Wizkid declared Afrobeat genre of music as the new pop, adding that the rap genre of music is dead.

The statement generated reactions from Nigerian rappers like M.I Abaga and Blaqbonez who countered Wizkid.

However, on Friday Wizkid in a Snapchat post claimed rappers are broke and dumb. He added that Ghanaian rappers Sakordie, Black Sherif and South African rapper Nasty C are the only rappers in Africa.

Reacting to his statement in an Instagram post on Saturday, an angry Uche blasted Wizkid for his statement, adding that his colleague Davido would never diminish Nigerian rappers. She wrote:

“Wizid was wrong! Too wrong! How could you say such about your people! Who do us this thing sef? Which Babalawo Mix this Juju wey say Nigerians must hate fellow Nigerians! No Loyalty to your People! To your Country! Only Selfishness everywhere! Abeg make all of them getat! This is not nice! All Nigerian Rappers y’all are the biggest and the Greatest Abeg!

“David would never do this! Lai Lai. Weda nah Nigerian rappers he ment or American Rappers! He should never have opened those cans of Worms.”
