10 Months After Release, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ Music Video Is Not Calming Down With Numbers On YouTube

Rema, Nigeria’s golden child, has continued to amass massive views on the video for his popular single, ‘Calm Down,’ on the music and video sharing portal YouTube.

The Mavin Records super vocalist debuted the video for ‘Calm Down’ on the streaming site on February 11, 2022, and it has since gone viral. ‘Calm Down’ is a captivating video that is also cheery and entertaining.

Rema plays a lover boy in the music video for ‘Calm Down,’ directed by DK of PriorGold Pictures. He sings to serenade his heartthrob, expressing his love for her and showing her he can provide her with long-lasting love.

As of the time of this report, the video for ‘Calm Down,’ one of the most popular Afrobeats music videos, sat confidently at over 300 million views (304,175,509 views in precise), more than 2.7 million likes, 39,494 comments, and was ranked eighth on YouTube’s global top music video chart.

We previously reported that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ record sold over a million copies in the United States. The song reached the landmark by combining sales from the original version and a remix featuring American singer Selena Gomez.

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, Rema, a Mavin Records and Jonzing World superstar, took over the number one spot as the most Shazamed music with the song, ‘Calm Down’, in France. Similarly, ‘Calm Down’ received Platinum certification in France, showing that the song has at least thirty million (30,000,000) stream-equivalents as of July 25.
