Despite her social media absence, veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji celebrated her 44th birthday with friends.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the actress, who lives in the United States, turned 44 on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, but did not share birthday photos with her colleagues.
Some internet users wished for Genevieve’s return to the screen after her colleague and friend, Uche Jombo, publicly congratulated her.
Sharing a monochrome photo of her colleague and friend, Uche wrote:
Asa bekeeee! Happiest birthday to my girl Genny love you!.
In response to Uche’s post, some netizens flooded the comment section with love and birthday wishes for the actress.
However, a viral video shows Genevieve dancing in delight as she cuts her birthday cake.
Friends and loved ones could also be heard cheering her on.
Genevieve made headlines last year when it was reported that she was admitted to a hospital in the United States for a mental health crisis after going completely silent on her 43rd birthday.
In May, the actress deleted all of her Instagram photos and videos, months after unfollowing everyone on the social media platform.
She did, however, return to Instagram in November 2022 with a photo of herself that got her fans talking.
The actress wore a Tiffany Amber-designed dark blue gown to the 2022 edition of Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEXWKND) in Côte D’Ivoire.
Genevieve spoke at the event before deleting the post and going silent again.
