Cheque apologizes to Davido for ‘disrespecting’ Chioma

Singer cum songwriter, Akanbi Bamidele Brett, who is popularly known as Cheque, recently found himself at the centre of a social media storm following a freestyle video he posted.

In the said video, Cheque is in his car, singing to different women’s pictures which he has on his phone. Calling them shawty, he slid past Davido and his wife, Chioma’s photo and when he got to a picture of Chioma alone, he zoomed in on it and kept singing.

This gesture sparked controversy from fans and followers with many stating that zooming in on Chioma’s picture like some ‘random babe’, is disrespectful.

Cheque has deleted the video and while not stating what he did, he issued a public apology to Davido stating that he didn’t mean any form of disrespect.
