Popular Nigerian film actress cum producer, Iniobong Edo has taken her fans down the memory lane, speaking up about her failed marriage which crashed about 10 years ago, as well as her choice to opt for surrogacy.

Speaking on the latest episode of media personality, Chude Jideonwo’s podcast, the actress said she got married in the first place because of “family pressure.”

Ini Edo who recently revealed her daughter to the world on her second birthday spoke about how she chose surrogacy because she wanted to have a child. She added that she had a couple of miscarriages earlier and opted for surrogacy since her eggs are healthy enough and she has no husband. She said in part:

“…I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t just the right move to make. Although I’d get married again if the right person comes.”

“I chose surrogacy because I had couples of miscarriages. And I just got tired of trying.

“I don’t have a husband. So, I’m like, I want a child for myself whether I have a husband or not. So, what other options would I have? And I wanted it to be my child. My eggs. Thankfully, my eggs are good. So I did that.”

In 2021, Ini Edo announced the arrival of her first child, a girl through surrogacy. Watch her speak below:
