Vee ecstatic as Funke Akindele gives her movie role to boost her confidence

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Victoria Adeyele, popularly known as Vee, has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to renowned Nollywood actress and film producer, Funke Akindele-Bello.

The gratitude stems from a golden opportunity granted to her to showcase her acting talent in Akindele’s recently premiered mini-series titled “She Must Be Obeyed.”

In a remarkable journey that began with a humble direct message (DM) on Instagram in January 2021, Vee reached out to Funke Akindele with aspirations to break into the world of acting.

She expressed her admiration for the multi-talented actress, citing Akindele’s iconic role in the popular TV series “Jenifa’s Diary” as a major source of inspiration throughout her life.

Their initial conversation, which has since become a testament to seizing opportunities, was recently shared by Vee.

“Good evening, Aunty Funke. Hope you’re well. I just got a random feeling that I should shoot my shot with you. I believe I’m a good actress. I don’t have much experience, but I’m a fast learner and I’m hardworking. I grew up watching you in movies and I’m very inspired by how you made yourself a huge brand. I’d love if you consider me for anything you have going on this year. You won’t regret it. Have a lovely night. God bless,” Vee wrote.

To her surprise, Funke Akindele respond positively.

“Hi my darling. Just seeing your tweet. Why not? Let’s hook up once I get into Lagos. Cool?,”  Funke Akindele wrote.

To this, Vee enthusiastically replied, “Of course, I’m ready. Thank you!”

Fast forward to the present day, and Vee’s dream has become a reality as she takes her place among top Nollywood talents in “She Must Be Obeyed.”

The mini-series boasts an impressive cast, including the legendary Patience Ozokwor, Lateef Adedimeji, Rachael Okonkwo, Nancy Isime, Adunni Ade, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Mike Ezuronye, and, of course, Vee herself.

Overjoyed and brimming with gratitude, Vee took to social media to convey her appreciation to Funke Akindele-Bello.

Vee wrote;
