Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of the Lagos State Police Command, will speak to the media about the ongoing inquiry into the passing of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, alias Mohbad.
Today, October 6, at 3 p.m., the news conference is scheduled to take place at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The CP is anticipated to provide information on the command’s activities to date, including any arrests and invitations issued by the police in relation with the continuing investigation.
At the age of 27, Mohbad passed away on September 12 in questionable circumstances.
Since then, thousands of Nigerians have protested across the country calling for Mohbad’s justice.
On September 18, the Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.
Owohunwa had vowed that the command would use all its powers to fish out everyone indicted in the case.
On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
The Lagos police on Tuesday announced it had Naira Marley in its custody for interrogation.
Sam Larry was also detained on September 29.
The Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court during the week ordered the remand of Naira Marley and three others for the alleged conspiracy and murder of Mohbad.
The others remanded are Ogedengbe Fisayo, 37; Ayobami Sadiq, 27; and Samson Eletu, 45.
The Chief Magistrate, Adeola Olatubosun, ordered the remand for 21 days in the police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) and adjourned the case until 25 October.
