Popular Nollywood actress Shola Kosoko has expressed her views on marriage and divorce, emphasizing the importance of women making independent decisions in critical situations.

In an interview with colleague Biola Bayo, Shola Kosoko used a Yoruba adage suggesting that while advice may come from various sources, women ultimately have the autonomy to decide their fate.

“I would say that advice will come from different angles and advice will vary. There is a Yoruba adage that says ‘If someone faces you, you should face them too”. It simply means you can take A advice, take B advice but when it comes to a point, you should be able to decide,” she said.

She emphasized the principle that no marriage is worth jeopardizing one’s life, sharing her insights after more than a decade of marriage.

The daughter of veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Shola Kosoko has been married for over a decade to Abiodun Abinna, with whom she shares three children- two girls and a boy.
