“There’s nothing like the ‘Big 3’, there’s only the Big 2 and me” – Burna Boy boldly affirms
  • Famous crooner, Burna Boy dismisses the notion of a Big 3 in the Nigerian music industry, originally consisting of himself, Davido, and Wizkid.
  • In a recent concert, the musician took some time to assert that there’s nothing like a Big 3, rather there is only a Big 2 and then himself.
  • This posit from Burna Boy has now stirred a frenzy among internet users.

Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, stirred up reactions on social media when he emphatically declared that there’s no such thing as the ‘big 3,’ only the ‘big 2’ and himself.

The controversial moment occurred during one of his concerts, where he paused his performance to address concertgoers.

In a distinctive moment, Burna Boy asserted:

“Next time anybody tells you about anything called the ‘big 3’, tell them there’s only the ‘big 2’ and then, there’s Burna Boy.”

Although he didn’t explicitly specify who the ‘big 2’ were, speculation arose that he meant Wizkid and Davido, positioning himself outside their category.

This contentious statement triggered debates on social media, prompting various interpretations and reactions.

@diamonddemola wrote: “He’s not even big two, he’s third force! Let him continue to denigrate his people for validations, we still love Wizzy and David more than him. It’s not just about good music, it’s also about impact and how you are perceived at home. Burna too dey find enemies where there’s none.”

@AfrobeatDon2 wrote: “Nothing like Big 3 or Big 2. There is only one Big 1 and his name is Kizz Daniel, the true king of afrobeats. While the others live off hypes and stunt, everyone knows Kizz Daniel for his music and music only.”

@mayorsoj wrote: “Burna boy is proud and rude but y’ll won’t admit … This IKORODU lucky dube needs to take lessons in emotional intelligence before speaking on public issues 😒😒🤫.”
