I never wanted to be famous – Deyemi Okanlawon

Popular Nigerian actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, has admitted that he didn’t join the entertainment industry because of fame.

The thespian, who switched from engineering to the entertainment industry, explained that he came into the industry to “do the work,” stressing that he later realized “fame was the collateral upside.”

Speaking on the latest episode of Celebrity Quickies, Deyemi said:

“To be honest, I didn’t know this side of fame. I didn’t come into the industry to be famous. I came to do the work and the collateral upside of doing the work was fame.

So, I quickly adapted with the understanding that it is just part of the job.”

“In fact, I try to remove that from my head to help me stay grounded.”

Deyemi Okanlawon said his biggest regret is not starting his acting career earlier.
He then revealed the Hollywood actresses he would like to go on dates with are Viola Davies and Meryl Streep.

A week ago, Nigerian film actress, Iyabo Ojo named colleagues, Richard Mofe Damijo aka RMD and Ramsey Nouah as two actors she would love to shoot a love scene with.

Iyabo Ojo said this on an episode of Comedian, AY Makun’s Celebrities Quickies. The mother of two said:

“If I’m to do a love scene with an actor in Nigeria, it would be RMD. I used to love RMD a lot. So love scene, RMD still or probably, Ramsey Nouah.”

Iyabo Ojo also admitted that she will choose to to drink alcohol over tea or coffee because she is a “shekpe lady”.

According to her, she enjoys “a lot of alcohol”, so much so she has two wine bars in her residence.
