Malaika: Road to N300m – Toyin Abraham excitedly announces as she beats own record

Nigerian actress cum filmmaker, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi has announced that her latest film, Malaika has made N284m in the cinema as she aims to reach N300m.

The mother of one shared the good news in an Instagram post on Monday in which she posted a photo collage chronicling her journey into cinema and the figures she has made from her movies.

Toyin Abraham started with Alakada Reloaded which made over 74 million naira in the cinema followed by The Ghost and the Tout and Fate of Alakada which made over 77 million and 113 million naira respectively.

The Ghost and the Tout Too made 134 million naira while Ijakumo made 278 million naira at the box office.

Captioning the post, Toyin Abraham wrote:

Malaika premiered at the cinema on December 22, 2023.

The film stars Toyin Abraham, Emeka Ike, Abike Shugaa, Muyiwa Ademola, Carter Efe, Ibrahim Chatta, Uzor Arukwe and Ruby Ojiakor.

In related news, Toyin Abraham and Oluwapelumi Olawuni better known as Abike Shugaa have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

There are speculations that the duo have stopped seeing eye to eye after Abike Shugaa promoted Funke Akindele’s A Tribe Called Judah.

It’s no news that Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele are rivals in the movie industry, there are reports of a quiet social media war over influence and supremacy going on between the duo.
