- Using a personal instance as an example, the reality TV star stated that when a cozy photo of her and a younger guy, Khaid went viral, she was bashed for reportedly dating someone so young.
- Phyna wondered why the same energy is not given if it’s an older man who dates a younger woman.
Controversial Big Brother Naija reality TV star, Josephina Ijeoma Otabor aka Phyna has broken her silence after being accused of dating 17-year-old singer, Khaid.
Recall that Phyna and Khaid sparked relationship rumours after sharing their cozy picture on social media earlier in the year.
The reality star was heavily criticized because of the age difference between her and the singer.
However, speaking on the latest episode of her Spill With Phyna podcast, Phyna bemoaned the hypocrisy of society, questioning the disparity between men and women when it comes to choosing younger partners. She said:
“Me and this boy take picture; Khaid. He is young and the picture, I posted it. He posted it as well. Omo, if you see the dragging, ‘Oh Phyna, is this boy you’re dating now?’, ‘Oh Phyna is 30-year-old, this boy is 10 years old.’
“It was so terrible that I was now wondering that in this country we have ladies who are married to way older men. So, I want to know the difference between being a younger man and being a younger girl. Why can’t we have the same balance, I thought they said age is just a number?”
Still on disparity, WITHIN NIGERIA reported in November 2023 how Gideon Okeke lampooned some women over their double standards on social media.
He knocked them for dressing indecently on social media but not wanting to be addressed shabbily.
Gideon Okeke also wondered how they’ll flaunt their private part but hide their man from the public.
