South Africa congratulates Super Eagles on AFCON semi-final victory, salutes them for making it to the finals

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana has taken to social media to commend Nigeria’s Super Eagles for emerging victorious over them, securing their place in the highly anticipated finals.

The match between the two football teams caught the attention of fans across the continent, ending in a tense penalty shootout.

The encounter, which took place on the pitch witnessed both teams showcasing their prowess and determination to claim victory.

However, it was Nigeria’s Super Eagles who emerged triumphant after an intense battle, securing their place in the AFCON finals.

Following their defeat, Bafana Bafana of South Africa acknowledged Nigeria’s outstanding performance and resilience throughout the tournament.

In a social media post, the South African team extended their congratulations to the Super Eagles for their remarkable achievement.

In a statement shared on their official Twitter page, Bafana Bafana expressed their admiration for Nigeria’s journey to the AFCON finals.

It is worth noting that the Super Eagles will now face Ivory Coast in the ultimate showdown on Sunday, February 11.

“Well done to Nigeria 🇳🇬 for making it to the final of AFCON 2023 South Africa 🇿🇦  Thank you so much for your unwavering support for @BafanaBafana throughout this tournament,” the post read.

In other news, Popular Nigerian economist and Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has extended her well wishes to the Super Eagles, ahead of their semi-final match against South Africa in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Okonjo-Iweala, the former Nigerian Minister of Finance, expressed her confidence in the team’s abilities and urged them to secure victory in the semi-finals to advance to the finals of the prestigious tournament.
