How Burna Boy rejected N1billion performance fee in Delta – Mr Jollof exclaims

• Mr Jollof has expressed a recent instance that shocked and led him to conclude that Burna Boy has gone far.
• Disclosing this on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram, the comedian cum show promoter said he and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team, offering N1.3 billion performance fee but got rejected.

Nigerian comedian cum show promoter, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has claimed that singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy rejected over N1 billion to perform at a concert organised by him and some investors in Warri, Delta State.

Mr Jollof said they had reached out to the singer’s team with an offer of $1 million (N1.3 billion) but his team rejected it on the grounds that it is below what the singer charges.

The comedian disclosed this in a recent Instagram post.

Mr Jollof wrote in Pidgin English:

“Me and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (1.3 billion Naira today’s rate). Guess what? They said it’s too small.

“Burna Boy no dey Nigeria lane again oo because we didn’t utilise him enough before he was exported to global music market. No jokes.”

Still on Burna Boy, American talk show host, Steve Harvey absolved the Nigerian Grammy winner of any accusations that he stole from the music genre in America.

He stated that contrary to such belief, it was the West, especially America who are inspired by African beats, rhythm, and soul which is done by Burna Boy and other African artistes.
