Actor Akah Nnani has opened up about his marriage to Claire Nnani, revealing that their relationship is built on love, not infatuation or temporary feelings.
In an interview with Toke Makinwa on her show “Toke Moments”, Akah shared that there are times when he and his wife don’t necessarily like each other, but their love for each other keeps them together.
He emphasised that love is complex and requires accepting and loving one’s partner’s flaws and imperfections, even their “demons”.
In Akah Nnani’s words:
“People marry for the wrong reasons everytime. I will say love because there are moments and certain periods of time I don’t like my wife, it has happened. And there are periods when she doesn’t like me because it is the love that keeps us.
“Love is complicated, you have to love somebody’s demons. That is why it is love”,
On 29 January 2019, Akah Nnani, engaged Claire Idera. They both had their traditional engagement on 8 April 2019 and married on 12 April 2019.
On 8 February 2021, they both welcome their first daughter, Chizaram Gabrielle Eriife Amaris Nnani.
In 2022, Akah Nnani revealed the reason he is not featured in a lot of movies like his counterparts.
The Nollywood actor noted that he is very picky with the jobs he accepts, hence, the reason why his face is not plastered on every screen.
While chatting with Midweek Entertainment, Akah Nnani said it is intentional for him to determine the type of movies he acts in, adding that as someone who uses his talent to entertain people, he prefers to be diverse instead of being trapped in a box.
