Renowned singer Terry G, born Gabriel Oche Amanyi, has made a shocking revelation about the Nigerian music industry.

He believes that eradicating cultism is crucial for peace and harmony among musicians.

He said:

“In my time [when I held sway], cultism used to be in the universities. But it has entered into the music industry now. If we can remove it from the music industry, we would be [one] family again.

“But if there’s frat [confraternity] in the music industry, people like us who are not cultists cannot operate anymore.

“When we held sway, there were people doing cultism but it wasn’t violent. It was about love. They said it was for solidarity propose.

“But now, I can see the same family fighting themselves. So that’s just the major problem of the Nigerian music industry. A lot of musicians are even scared to do music. They want to do cult before they do music now because that would paved way for them than the music. Let’s try and reduce the rate of cultism in the music industry.”

Terry also speaks on collaboration with Wizkid, he reveals why he is pulling down his new song with Wizkid from online platforms .

He revealed that during Wizkid’s visit, they not only recorded four songs together but also took a tour of his impressive property investments.

When Adesope asked Terry G about the unauthorized release of his joint song ‘Mary Jane’ with Wizkid online without clearance from Wizkid and his team, Terry G candidly admitted to not having obtained permission.

He expressed frustration at receiving a stern letter from Wizkid’s team, accusing him of breaching their agreement by releasing the track without consent.

Nostalgically reminiscing about simpler times, Terry G lamented the days when he could release joint songs independently without needing anyone’s approval.
