“Ughhh someone needs to plan an OG Naija music festival with P-Square, Dbanj, Wande Coal, Duncan Mighty, Don Jazzy (Old Mavins), Ice Prince!!! That would go so crazyyyy!,” the post read.

In response, Don Jazzy humorously downplayed his status.

He wrote;

“I be upcoming o. Stay there.”

The music executive’s response has sparked a mix of reactions from fans and followers.

Don Jazzy’s career began to soar in 2004 when he co-founded Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj.

His prominence grew further when he worked as an in-house producer for Kanye West’s GOOD Music from 2011 to 2015.

After the dissolution of Mo’ Hits, he established Mavin Records in 2012, which has since become a powerhouse in the Nigerian music scene.

In 2024, Don Jazzy sold Mavin Records to Universal Music Group but continued to serve as the CEO.

The Mavin Records boss said his decision to stop was as a result of the criticism from people on X who were also calling for the act to be banned.
