  • Portable lamented that he didn’t receive any reward despite supporting President Bola Tinubu during the presidential election in 2023.
  • He also claimed that “fighting” the government was a vain job, stressing that the government has nothing to lose.

Controversial street singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stated that he did not receive any payment for his support of President Bola Tinubu.

During a live Instagram session with fans, the ‘Zazu’ singer expressed his feelings of being “used”.

He mentioned that despite his support for president Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, he did not receive any financial reward, stating that he felt “used” but chose to remain calm.

He highlighted that citizens often bear the costs of such confrontations.

Recall Portable had blasted ‘hunger dey protesters, labeling them lazy.

Portable, in a recent video, criticized the protesters, labeling many of them as lazy and unwilling to work.

According to reports, thousands of Nigerians took to the streets on Thursday, August 1, in various states to protest against hunger and economic hardship.

Portable, however, argued that a significant number of the youth participating in the protests are not genuinely seeking employment but are instead engaging in unlawful activities.

He emphasized that the problem is not solely bad governance but also the bad elements within the society.

The singer went on to condemn the vandalism of public amenities and private properties, attributing these destructive actions to the protesters rather than the government.

He urged for an end to both bad governance and bad behavior among citizens.

In his words;

“Most of the protesters are lazy people. If you see work, shey, you go do it? no be thief and bag snatcher you go dey do? now you’re shouting end bad government, make dem end bad people too. is it the government that is burning tyres and breaking people’s cars?

“is it the government demolishing people’s houses? shebi it’s you people? end bad people, no be only bad government o, end all of them.”
