Nigerian musician Skales has spoken out against the Nigerian Police Force, citing an alleged encounter that occurred on December 4, 2024.
The artist detailed his experience on the social media platform X, recounting an incident that took place near Magodo in Lagos while he was on his way to a scheduled interview at City FM.
In his post, Skales expressed frustration with the police, stating, “Nigerian police will not stop being a joke …so yesterday the Nigerian police under the bridge close to magodo as if you’re going to fela shrine/agidingbi stopped us on our way to city fm last night & displayed plenty madness of pointing guns at us as if we were criminals after they finished their usual b.s “.
He also mentioned that the officers asked him for “Christmas money,” and after he declined their request, they allegedly threatened to hold him back and conduct a search of his vehicle.
Skales explained: “They now asked for money for Christmas then I said I swear I’m not giving and we are late for an interview … they said a lot of rubbish .. that they would delay us and search us … and I said my level of hatred for this joke called Nigerian police force will not let me want to ever be at your mercy so we dropped for them to search..”
“They started saying, ‘Okay, so you get money you no want give us; we go show you today”.

In another story, Skales blasts man who claimed he can bring his mom back to life.
The musician, who has openly expressed his longing for his mother, shared on his X account that he wishes he could bring her back: “Man, I wish I could bring back my MOTHER.”
In response, an X user named Big Slim suggested that Skales should bring some money and he would assist him in achieving that wish.
This comment angered the artist, prompting him to respond fiercely to the netizen.
