Speed Darlington and His Lawyer, Stan Alieke Cut Ties With Each Other

Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has parted ways with his lawyer, Stan Alieke, and his law firm, Law Capitol.

This decision comes after Speed Darlington’s recent release from jail, where he spent two months due to an issue with fellow artist Burna Boy.

Stan Alieke’s law firm had worked tirelessly to secure Speed Darlington’s freedom.

However, in a surprise move, Alieke announced on his Instagram story, that he and his law firm would no longer represent Speed Darlington.

The statement read:

“I & my law firm (Law Capitol) have officially withdrawn from legally representing Mr. Darlington Achakpo PKA Speed Darlington/Akpi and henceforth cease to act as his legal attorneys.”

Following Speed Darlington’s release, the singer made a strong resolution.

In a post, he shared a photo of his lawyer and announced that he would seek 300 million naira in damages for the alleged violation of his human rights.

Speed Darlington stated that he would be taking the matter “all the way” and vowed to mercilessly drag those involved.

He drew parallels with a previous case, where he and his other lawyer, Stanley successfully sued a bank for violating his rights two years ago.

His recent post however hints at his resilience despite the intimidation he may face.

“Thank you 🙏🏿 Mazi David Ihuoma Esq. We going all the way! They must pay me for violating my human right 300 million naira. We will drag them more than Stanley and I dragged that bank that violated me two years ago.”
