“I am more relevant than Ebuka” — Comedian DeeOne

• Deeone stated that Ebuka’s name hasn’t trended for some time because there is nothing to talk about him.
• He added that even if Ebuka does something controversial, he will still not trend like he will if he does the same.

Comedian DeeOne has shared his thoughts on his place in the entertainment industry.

In a recent interview on the Honest Podcast, DeeOne made some surprising comments about his relevance in the industry.

According to DeeOne, he believes he is more relevant than media personality Ebuka Uchendu.

DeeOne cited Ebuka’s relatively low profile in recent times as evidence for his claim.

He also suggested that even if Ebuka were to engage in a controversial act, it would not generate the same level of attention if he were to do something similar.

In his words;

“I will say I’m more relevant than Ebuka. When last did you hear of Ebuka’s name? Even if Ebuka wears hot pants to trend I will still trend more than him because I will do worse. “

This was after Deeone named 3 relevant ex-BBNaija housemates, tags Erica, Teddy A, Laycon, 150 others irrelevant.

Deeone claimed that he, TV show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and actress Bisola Aiyeola are the only former housemates of the reality show who are still relevant.

He said:

“In the history of Big Brother Naija, only three of us [housemates] are still relevant today: DeeOne, Ebuka, and Bisola. After the three of us, who else? This is not to say that the rest are not working. We have 150 something ex-housemates. How many are relevant?

“I’m not talking about making money. Everyone is making money. We are talking about relevancy. Let’s be realistic. You might not like it, but it’s the truth. My question is, is Big Brother a curse or a blessing? Because many who were doing well before the show became stagnant after participating.

“Erica, for example, was acting before going on the show, but after the show, her career retrograded. Look at Teddy A; he used to tour African countries with his music, but when he entered the Big Brother house, his career slipped. The same goes for Laycon. I’m not talking about people who didn’t have much going for them before the show; I’m talking about people who were working.

“Most of us went into the Big Brother Naija house in pursuit of fame, not even the prize money. But when you come out, it’s ten times more difficult.”
