- Ijoba Lande’s estranged wife has accused the skit maker of physical abuse, financial irresponsibility and gambling.
- She made the allegations during a podcast with actress, Biola Bayo.
- Dara also dared her husband to release the proof he claimed to have that she slept with at least 21 actors.
Dara, the estranged wife of actor and skit maker Kehinde Ganiyu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has accused her ex-husband of being an addicted gambler who physically assaulted her at every opportunity.
Speaking in an interview with actress Biola Adebayo on the Talk To B podcast, Dara refuted Lande’s claim that she had affairs with 21 men, challenging him to provide evidence. She said:
“Saying that I slept with 21 men, he (Ijoba Lande) cannot point out to one man that I have done that with. Let him prove it. He should name them and release the video he claims to have.”
She also blamed Marygold, Lande’s manager and her former friend, as a major factor in their marital issues, stating that he always took Marygold’s side in their disputes. In her words:
“When I met Lande, I didn’t date him for money. People discouraged our relationship, and at that time, I was with someone else. But my friend Marygold convinced me to give him a chance after he showed interest at a party where we met. He is addicted to online betting, especially Aviator, and has lost millions. He even sold his car and used the money to gamble. He was always glued to his phone, which I later realized was because of his betting addiction.”
She also revealed that she struggled financially during their marriage. Dara continued:
“I had to collect food on credit while living with him because he didn’t take care of me. On top of that, he beat me up due to his anger issues. Our problems worsened when he sided with Marygold after she defaulted on a N100,000 monthly contribution scheme. When I demanded she pay up, Lande told me to leave her alone because she was broke, even though she had collected her share when it was her turn.”
Dara further stated that before leaving the marriage, she and Lande had planned to create content where she would be seen packing out of his house. She claimed:
“Even the money for our introduction ceremony, I paid for it myself. When I left, I didn’t take anything from the house; my clothes and other belongings are still there. I left with only one extra.”
Addressing the controversial Truth or Dare game at actor Babatunde Tayo Bernard aka Baba Tee’s residence, Dara said Marygold initiated it for reasons unknown to her. She said:
“I was drunk and barely aware of what happened during the sex dare. I only remember sitting on Baba Tee’s legs. I regret playing such a game and being at that scene.”
Her statements come in response to Ijoba Lande’s recent claims that she was unfaithful and involved with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee.
Baba Tee, however, denied any affair with Dara, stating that he only met her once last year through Marygold. He later confessed to having a quickie with Dara and pleaded for forgiveness, claiming she didn’t tell him she was married.
In same interview, Dara apologized to Lande for her shortcomings, promising never to repeat such.
