“Yul Edochie don change lane” – Charly Boy mocks actor’s sudden support for Igbo presidency

Yul Edochie is back in the headlines, and not for his usual family drama. The Nollywood actor stirred political waters after declaring that Nigeria’s next President should come from the South-East.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Yul said:

“The next President of Nigeria should come from the South-East. In fairness and equity. That’s just the truth. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”

Usually, such comments wouldn’t have sparked controversy. But coming from a man who has been one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s most vocal supporters, the statement caught many Nigerians off guard.

Yul has consistently defended Tinubu’s administration, urging citizens to “endure” the economic hardship because better days are supposedly ahead. He even downplayed critics, insisting Nigerians would soon enjoy the fruits of the president’s reforms.

Charly Boy, aka Area Fada, who is never one to shy away from calling out what he sees as hypocrisy, was quick to react. Taking to X, he wrote:

“Yul Edochie finally see’s the light.

Thank God you don dey change lane.”

Peter Obi of the Labour Party remains the most popular political figure from the South-East, and he’s already declared his interest to run in 2027.

In other news, Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has cleared the air at unfounded health claims circulating on social media.

It all started when a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, confidently claimed the singer had undergone a bone marrow transplant. He stated:

“Yes he is but he has done that bone marrow transplant so I don’t think it affects him that much now.”

But AG Baby wasn’t having it.

Quoting the claim, Adekunle Gold wrote:

“It’s how you people say things you don’t know with so much confidence 😂. No I haven’t done bone marrow transplant.”

The speculation may have stemmed from the singer’s previous openness about living with sickle cell anemia, a condition he detailed in his emotional 2022 single “5 Star.”
