Popular hype man and media personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode better known as Do2dtun, has slammed the Bauchi State Hisbah Commission over its recently announced ban on DJs and entertainment at weddings and social gatherings across the state.
The outburst came shortly after the commission rolled out 16 new guidelines aimed at “restoring moral and spiritual values” in marriages.
In a fiery social media rant, 41 year old Do2dtun did not mince words:
“If you are the one that came up with the law to ban DJs and event planners in a state, then you are very, very useless. What a complete level of ignorance tied to hopelessness and joblessness. What is the effect of such law? Some people are so backward in this Nigeria.”
The Bauchi State Hisbah Commission, which operates under Sharia law, announced the ban as part of sweeping reforms to curb what it claims is a disturbing rise in divorce cases. According to the commission, excessive entertainment, music, and social flair during weddings are removing baraka (blessing) from marriages.
Among the practices now banned are DJs, gala events, kawayawade, aloba, and any form of social entertainment that the Hisbah deems morally questionable. The guidelines, they say, are supported by sections 95, 362, and 373 of the Bauchi State Sharia Penal Code and will be enforced at event centres, clubs, and recreational spots. In other news, Charly Boy has mocked Yul Edochie’s recent comments on his next presidency choice. The Nollywood actor stirred political waters after declaring that Nigeria’s next President should come from the South-East.
Usually, such comments wouldn’t have sparked controversy. But coming from a man who has been one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s most vocal supporters, the statement caught many Nigerians off guard.
