Popular Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori Jesam, better known as TG Omori or Boy Director, has once again drawn attention to his health journey with an emotional post about the high cost of dialysis in Nigeria.
In a series of tweets, Omori revealed how overwhelming the expenses can be for the average Nigerian battling kidney failure. He wrote:
“Dialysis is about 100k plus per session, sometimes you need 3 sessions in a week, minimum wage is 70k. Knowing these facts brought me tears in the hospital cause no hope for the common man.”
The award-winning director also reflected on his own medical bills, saying:
“Saw my month’s health expenses, Omo 2 GLE and one small C300 bro! Health is wealth true true.”
This comes months after TG Omori opened up about undergoing a kidney transplant in Lagos in August 2024. At the time, he revealed that the surgery was unsuccessful, sparking worry among fans. He disclosed that his only brother had donated one kidney to him, but complications set in afterwards. He shared in August:
“One year after my kidney crashed I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Lagos. Pray for me.”
“Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again.”
By November 2024, Omori reassured fans with a video showing him looking much healthier and in good spirits, hinting at his plans to resume work in 2025. His new look drew comments from followers, with many attributing his glow to lifestyle changes like quitting smoking and alcohol.
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has shared a deeply personal account of her life-threatening struggle with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack its own organs and tissues.
Her battle began with intense pain in all her joints, with pain she describes as far worse than childbirth. For months, doctors at LUTH gave her conflicting diagnoses, until she travelled abroad and was told she had lupus.
Kemi Afolabi recently revealed she already purchased her burial place following her diagnosis.
