Burna Boy sets new record, becomes African artist with most hot 100 entries

Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has broken another record, becoming the African artist with the most entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

His latest feature on American rapper Gunna’s track “WGFT” debuted at number 96 on this week’s Hot 100, marking Burna Boy’s seventh career entry.

The “Last Last” hitmaker also made history as the first African artist to debut on the Hot 100 for five consecutive years: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and now 2025.

Burna Boy first appeared on the chart in 2021 with “Loved By You” alongside Justin Bieber. He later earned his first solo entry in 2022 with “Last Last”, which peaked at number 44.

Singer Burna Boy

In other news, celebrity barman and nightlife king, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has bragged about how he supported Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy back in the days when the superstar was still struggling.

During a recent livestream with controversial TikToker Peller at his luxurious Owerri mansion, the businessman claimed Burna Boy once stayed in his home for days at a time. He boasted of how he accommodated the singer in his house, saying:

“I have brought everybody [celebrities] here. CP no small. I’m not joking. Burna Boy used to squat in my place for days. Giant of Africa no be person go bring am up?

Money na water! I have been doing this business for a long time.”

Cubana Chief Priest for the first time shared the revelation online, buttressing his point on how even the big names today struggled at some point.
