Last time I saw Mohbad was Oct4, 2022 – Naira Marley recounts their final meeting, aftermath of his death [VIDEO]

Naira Marley has finally shared his side of the story regarding the passing of his former signee, Mohbad, stressing that he had nothing to do with the tragedy.

According to the Marlian Music boss, the last time he set eyes on Mohbad was October 4, 2022, after a disagreement between the late singer and his manager. “That was my last time ever seeing Mohbad,” he said.

Marley revealed that despite Mohbad’s troubles, from his NDLEA arrest to a suicide attempt, a fallout with his manager, lawsuits with his distributor, and even issues with Sam Larry, the singer was still considering reconciling. In Naira Marley’s words:

“The last time I saw mohbad was 4th of oct 2022. The disagreement with him and his manager. That was my last time ever seeing Mohbad. 4th of oct 2022.

So even after the NDLEA issue, the attempted suicide, the fight with his former manager, the law suit with the distributor, the termination letter, the situation with him and Sam Larry. Even after all of this, Mohbad was still telling people he wants to come and apologize.

I didn’t know he was going to die. If I knew I would have probably let him come but it was just too much for me at that moment.

Fast forward to sept 12 2023 when I heard Mohbad passed away… according to Google.”

The Marlian boss said the news of Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023, came to him as a shock while he was outside Nigeria. He recounted:

“Someone told me Mohbad was dead. I said it’s a lie, he just wants to blow again. I even thought the blogs were lying when they wrote he died of ear infection.”

But within hours, Naira claimed, old videos began resurfacing. Clips of Mohbad’s NDLEA incident and his fight with his manager, narratives he believed were being deliberately pushed. “I wasn’t even in Nigeria. I can show my passport stamp. Yet people started saying I killed him,” he said, adding that the blame made it hard for him to properly mourn.

On the viral clip showing Sam Larry confronting Mohbad, Naira Marley insisted he was seeing it for the first time like everyone else. He continued:

“I was angry too, but when I asked Sam, he said nothing happened. He claimed he only tapped the chair while asking for his money. He didn’t touch Mohbad. But I noticed the blogs were using that video to paint another narrative.”

Naira, however, maintained that his conscience is clear:

“They have no reason to arrest me. I wasn’t in the country. I didn’t even get the chance to mourn him properly because of the blame.”

The Marlin boss added that when he came back to Nigeria to share his side of the story, the police locked him up in PANTI cell for 2 months.
