Mandy Kiss, the internet’s wild child who refuses to fade away

Mandy Kiss

Born Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, she is popularly known as Mandy Kiss. For years, she has built a reputation on shock value and blunt honesty. Loud, confident, and unfiltered, Mandy became famous on social media for calling herself the “President of Olosho,” a self-styled badge that mixed humour with defiance. Her videos often blurred the line between performance and provocation, and her boldness made her one of the most controversial faces of Nigeria’s online culture.

Fame built on chaos

Mandy Kiss

Her rise to fame began in the late 2010s when short-form comedy skits and lifestyle clips started taking over Instagram. She was not the typical influencer. Mandy, the self-styled runs-girl understood early that attention could be monetised, and she chased it without apology. Her mix of humour, sexual frankness, and vulnerability earned her a loyal following and an equal measure of condemnation. By 2022, she had become a trending name across platforms, a face that appeared regularly on gossip blogs.

She had tasted the power of virality, and like many who rise too quickly, she would soon learn how hard it is to stay in control of the story once the spotlight turns harsh.

By mid-2023, the cracks in her online life began to show. Mandy took a break from social media and returned months later with a surprising message. She said she had given her life to Christ. The transformation stunned her followers. She deleted old videos, appeared in modest outfits, and began to post about redemption, purpose, and peace.

For a while, it seemed the new Mandy had truly arrived. She reportedly started attending a white garment church and even released a gospel track. But that new life came with a hidden price. Despite her enthusiasm and determination to change, the song did not gain much traction. The same audience that made her famous for being outrageous did not embrace her gentler side.

As she began losing online attention, the paid endorsements that once supported her lifestyle started drying up. Behind the bright captions and filtered photos, Mandy was facing many influencers’ greatest fear of financial strain and fading relevance.

She once cried out on social media that she was struggling to maintain the new image especially because she wasn’t getting paid. The content slowed down, and her posts became fewer. Eventually, she went silent again. When she reappeared online in April 2024, the bold, controversial Mandy was back.

The Guinness Record that never was

Mandy Kiss Guinness World Record

The turning point came on September 22, 2025, when Mandy announced on Instagram that she was planning a Guinness World Record attempt. Her proposed challenge was to “sleep with 100 men in 24 hours” in Ikorodu, Lagos. She even shared a digital flyer carrying the Guinness logo. The announcement spread across Nigeria within hours.

Within two days, the global body reacted. On September 24, Guinness World Records publicly clarified that it does not recognise or monitor any sexual activity records. That statement stripped the stunt of any legitimacy and left Mandy standing alone in the storm she had created.

By September 26, the backlash had reached official levels. Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, a traditional ruler in Ogun State, issued a public call for her arrest, a drug test, and psychiatric evaluation. He said her proposed act insulted Nigerian womanhood and culture. Social media lit up again, this time divided between those who mocked her and those who asked for compassion.

The unexpected appointment

Just when it seemed her career had hit a wall, the story took an unexpected turn. On September 30, 2025, the Lagos State Government announced Mandy Kiss as one of its new ambassadors for the Lagos State Kick Against Drug Abuse (LASKADA) campaign.

It was a stunning move. While critics found the choice inappropriate given her recent behaviour, officials defended the decision. On October 1, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Developmentexplained that Mandy’s massive online reach could be used to redirect young people toward better choices. The government insisted the appointment was not an endorsement of her past actions but a redirection of her influence toward something useful.

By October 3, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) demanded that Lagos revoke the appointment, calling it “a mockery of morality.” They argued that public figures with such controversial reputations should not be symbols of social responsibility. But for Mandy, it was still a public validation she had never expected to receive. Hopefully, this validation does give her a new perspective and opportunity to redeem herself.

Tears, fear, and the talk of mental health

Mandy Kiss

Then the tone shifted again. On October 12, Mandy posted several emotional videos in which she cried and begged Nigerians to stop trying to “lock her up.” She claimed people were plotting to have her taken to a psychiatric hospital. Her voice shook as she insisted she was not mentally ill. “I am just creating content. I am not mad,” she said, pleading for understanding.

Those videos went viral too. This time, the conversation was less about morality and more about mental health, the pressure of internet fame, and how society treats women who live loudly online.

A public repentance and the return to controversy

Mandy Kiss

After the backlash, Mandy posted photos that hinted at repentance. She apologised to her followers, thanked God for mercy, and promised to change. Many people welcomed the softer tone, seeing it as a sign of growth. But the peace did not last long. Within days, she was back online, clapping back at a prophetess who had cursed her publicly and laughing at critics who said she had lost her way.

Conclusion

Mandy Kiss

Mandy Kiss remains unpredictable. Her videos still attract thousands of views. Her emotions still swing between joy and distress. But in the midst of it all, there is a young woman who seems caught between fame, the need for attention and the craving for peace.

She may continue to shock, to apologise, to reinvent, and to survive. Whatever happens next, Mandy Kiss has forced Nigeria to look at its obsession with scandal, its double standards, and the fragility of digital celebrity.
