‘Igbo Mothers Must Stop Forcing Their Daughters To Marry Wealthy Men,’ Actor Sam Nnabuike Says

Sam Nnabuike

Nollywood actor, Sam Nnabuike, advises Igbo mothers to desist from forcing their daughters to bring home wealthy men for marriage.

Nnabuike wrote on his Instagram stories that despite bringing wealthy men to the mothers, they don’t take their time to investigate the source of wealth of those men.

He however, advised that the critical step to curb this act is to educate the girl child. He said;

“This is in no way to discredit the millions of many hardworking and illustrious Igbo women scattered on the surface of this earth, but then a critical and holistic approach has to be taken to educate the girl child.

“In most Igbo homes, mothers sternly push the narratives and are too keen on the specification of whom their daughters are allowed to date or bring back home as a suitor.

“And disappointingly, a lot of them are not concerned or are interested in investigating the source of the man’s wealth. This must stop.”
