‘Leave My Boy Alone If You Don’t Like Him’, Angelique Kidjo Blasts Burna Boy’s Critics

Burna Boy and Angelique Kidjo

Multiple Grammy awards winner, Angelique Kidjo, didn’t hold back her jab at critics of Afro-Fusion musician, Burna Boy, during an interview.

The Beninese musician condemned those criticizing Burna Boy’s unapologetic attitude and others who brand the Nigerian singer as proud.

In a chat with Smooth FM in Lagos state, Angelique stated that people who disapprove of Burna Boy’s behavior should leave him alone and let him be.

She said there’s no crime in the singer standing for his talent and expressing himself as he deems fit. She shared;

“That’s the way to do it (referring to Burna Boy’s attitude), because he knows what he is talking about. When you’re talented, yes, you have to have humility but that doesn’t mean you’re going to walk on yourself and apologise,” she said.
