Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has shared a thought-provoking message on social media, highlighting the potential harm that unhealed parents can cause their children.

According to Fabiyi, “a child’s first enemy is an unhealed parent.”

Yomi Fabiyi elaborated that some parents, due to their own unresolved issues, may engage in destructive behaviors such as lying, blackmail, and manipulation.

These actions, he stated can have a damaging impact on children, who may suffer the consequences of their parents’ unresolved trauma.

He wrote:

“A child’s first enemy is an unhealed parent.

Some parents are enemies of their children. They engage in terrible lies, blackmail, and dirty wickedness in their favor at the expense of their children.

Children beware”.

However, he contrasted this with his work for justice, stating, “When I fight for justice, truth, and human rights, I want to help society, sacrifice for society, build a legacy, suffer pains, but come with little or no friends.”

Fabiyi made it clear that he is committed to his advocacy, stating, “I choose the latter. It is the path I wish to follow going forward; I want to give back to society. I still have huge consideration for the former, too.”
