  • Hamster Kombat, a popular cryptocurrency airdrop has drawn criticism for its low payout rates in Nigeria.
  • Participants have complained that despite high engagement and investment of time and resources, rewards are significantly low and discouraging.
  • Nigerians are currently expressing their displeasure on social media platforms.

The highly anticipated Hamster Kombat crypto airdrop has ended in disaster, leaving thousands of Nigerians in shock and outrage. After months of tapping to earn rewards, users expected substantial payouts, but instead received minimal amounts, ranging from as low as $1.

The crypto-mining app, launched in March 2024, promised life-changing opportunities and billionaire status. However, the reality has been devastating. Reports indicate that the highest earner received only $17, while many users received as little as $0.75 or even less.

Social media users who participated in it are frustrated over the poor payout. The once-hopeful community is now characterized by “tears and wailings.”

Recall that a few days back, Bello Musa, a pharmacist from Nigeria, took to social media to express his outrage and disappointment with Hamster Kombat.

Musa claimed that he resigned from his job to focus on mining coins, only to receive a meagre token.

Musa’s viral post details his emotional distress and financial uncertainty following the alleged scam by the platform. He had invested time and resources into Hamster Kombat, anticipating substantial returns. Instead, he received a negligible amount, leaving him feeling devastated and traumatized.

Venting on X, he wrote:

“Dear #Hamster, I resigned from my job where I built a professional & unblemished career over the years in anticipation of huge token from you, only for me to be rewarded peanuts. From where will I start now? The threat from my HOD? Or the mockery I’m facing? Hamster Kombat is indeed nothing but scam! #HMSTRSCAM.

“I’m devastated, emotionally traumatised and with an uncertain future, all due to Hamster’s decision to be selfish.

As for the people mocking me, Man is not God! Insha Allah I’ll get another job. The person that introduced me to #Hamster said that was how Bitcoin started, that all people that sacrificed for bitcoin are now billionaires, I joined not knowing #HamsterKombat is a scam #HMSTR #HMSTRSCAM.”

He ended his message with a stern declaration, saying, “I’ll never forgive Hamster Kombat except if it comes at 1HMSTR = 100USD.”
