Timothy Ofoegbu, Nigerian journalist and missionary has countered the position of Reverend Fr. Kelvin Ugwu that spiritual husbands does not exist.
Explaining his position on the matter, Ofoegbu said there is an evil spirit tormenting single and married women.
The journalist also claimed that the said demon does not only stops women from getting married but also wreck havocs in marriages.
He wrote;
“Father, with due respect I disagreed with you on the spiritual husband and wife. It seems you have not done enough research on demons and spiritual warfare. The name spiritual husband or wife may have been coined by some Africans just like they coined follow follow demons.”
“It has to be understood that they mean that there is an evil spirit tormenting single and married women. In the old Testament, some angels had sex with women. Are angels not spirit? Did those women see or feel them? We read in Tobit 3:8 ” Sarah had been married seven times, but the evil demon, Asmodeus, killed each husband before the marriage could be consummated
“The servant woman said to Sarah'”. That evil demon that made this woman to lose her seven husbands was given a name. The evil demon was inside her. It was expelled even by angel Raphael before her 8th husband could live. So these spirits are there. The havoc they cause are real but if can’t call it spirit husband. Call it ASMODEUS as the Catholic Bible did . It is not just about stopping women from getting married but also wrecking havocs in marriages”.
