The panel appointed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the screening of aspirants for the State Executive Committee of the party has announced this Thursday for the completion of its assignments.

This is coming days after the suspension of its activities as a result of the postponement of the state congress of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state last weekend.

The Panel headed by Engr. Idris Adeoye and six other eminent party faithful had commenced screening of party members who had obtained nomination forms to enable them vie for each of the 36 positions at the State Congress earlier scheduled for Saturday October 16, 2021 but it could not conclude the exercise due to the postponement of the Congress by the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

In a statement issued and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Monday by its Secretary, Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, the Committee regretted that it had to suspend the screening exercise abruptly after attending to most of the aspirants from three out of the seven zones in the state following the announcement of the State Congress by the national secretariat of the party.

“After a thorough review of the situation, our Committee has resolved to resume work this Thursday at the Oke-Ado Secretariat of our Party. Therefore, all remaining aspirants who had obtained the nomination forms and willing to participate in the election exercise should endeavour to appear before the panel on the said date at 9am for their own turn of the mandatory screening.

“Furthermore, aspirants are expected to come along with party membership registration slip, permanent voter card (PVC) and fully filled Nomination Form. Individual aspirants are enjoined not to bring along any other person or persons as there would be strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols”, the statement concluded.
