Former INEC REC, Nentanwe Goshwe wins Plateau APC guber primary

Dr. Nentanwe Yilwatda Goshwe of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has been declared the winner of the party’s governorship primary election in the state.

Nentawe, a former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), received 803 votes to defeat three other candidates.

Before voting began, there were nine contenders in the race; however, five of them withdrew.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hon. Habu Ajiya, said those who withdrew from the contest included Sunday Garba Biggs, Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka and Arch. Steve Fitka.

Also, Deputy Governor of the State, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, Dr. Patrick Dakum and David Victor Dimka walked out just before voting commenced.

Below are the results declared by the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hon. Ajiya:

Dr. Nentawe Yilwada – 803, Dr. Patrick Dakum – 70, Dr. Fitka – 2, David Victor Dimka – 7, Hezekiah Dimka – 6, Garba Pwol SAN – 2, Danyaro Sarpiya – 4, Sonni Tyoden – 25, Sunday Biggs – 0.
