Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN), a former National Legal Adviser to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has stated that Nigeria needs a benevolent dictator as its President in 2023.

He noted that considering the numerous challenges currently facing the nation, a civilian administration might not be able to address them in a beneficial and sufficient way.

The lawyer said a benevolent dictator as Nigerian President has become necessary because of the quality of leadership the nation is experiencing.

This was made known by Banire in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state at the 11th annual symposium of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) B-Zone, with the theme: The Nations Destiny.

He said: “Don’t let them use parochial consideration to determine who to rule you so that we can have credible leadership and good governance; or else, after the election, the country is going nowhere.

“Things are not balanced because people are not getting their desired benefits. We don’t have equal opportunity in the country we call our own.”

MSSN National President Usman Abubakar and the MSSN B-Zone Coordinator Qaasim Odedeji said the theme for the event was deliberately chosen because of the forthcoming elections which they said would redefine the nation’s destiny.

The duo said Nigeria is at the verge of disintegration, adding that the worst is about to happen unless an urgent step is taken to save the country.
