One Nuhu, a water vendor, has been bludgeoned to death by a security guard, identified simply as Desmond.
38-year-old Desmond, who’s now been apprehended, punched Nuhu to death for refusing to fetch water for him.
The police said the murder took place in a private compound on Lugard Way, Ikoyi, Lagos, penultimate Wednesday.
Desmond, who works with Corporate VGC Security Company, was arrested by his colleagues after the water vendor collapsed as a result of a blow he received from the suspect.
The Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said preliminary investigation revealed that the water vendor might have died as a result of the impact of the punch he received.
He said, “When he was taken to a nearby hospital, he was confirmed dead. The body has been deposited at the general hospital mortuary.
“The suspect has been transferred to the homicide unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).”
