The All Progressives Congress has rescheduled its rally for the presidential election that was originally scheduled for Friday, January 20, in Jalingo, Taraba state.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s nominee for president, and Kashim Shettima, his running mate, were scheduled to address a crowd on Friday in Taraba.

In a statement released today, senator Emmanuel Bwacha, a candidate for governor, explained that the decision to postpone came after learning that the rally will take place on Friday.

“The APC-PCC, as a matter of policy, does not hold rallies on Fridays and Sundays to respect the religious sensitivity of its members and supporters”, Bwacha said in an online statement.

“Accordingly, the rally is hereby postponed to a new date to be decided in full consultation with the APC Presidential campaign Council.

“While awaiting the new date, we hereby express our profound regret for the inconvenience caused by this development, and we appeal for patience and understanding”.

Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council, James Faleke also confirmed the postponement.

He said a new date will be announced.
