Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, has enthusiastically welcomed many members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the country’s general elections in February and March 2023.

On Sunday, NNPP members defected to the APC in Kano State’s Minjibir and Ungogo local government areas.

Ganduje met with a large crowd of supporters, who, to thunderous applause, removed their symbolic Kwankwasiyya red caps and threw them over to the campaign podium.

They claimed that the APC was the only party capable of realizing their hopes and dreams for a better Kano State and Nigeria.

Ganduje, who is also the APC state leader, welcomed the defectors, led by the leader of the Kwankwasiyya faithful in Minjibir, Ibrahim Hamza, and congratulated them on their wise decision.

He then praised the rally’s large crowd turnout, calling it unprecedented.

As a result, the governor urged the people to vote massively for all APC candidates in the upcoming general elections.

He then presented APC flags to local candidates for the House of Representatives and the State Assembly.

Earlier, Abdullahi Abbas, the APC’s state chairman, stated that the APC had always won elections in Minjibir and Ungogo and would continue to do so in the upcoming general elections.

Abbas praised the rally’s large turnout of APC supporters and urged the people of the area to continue voting for the APC for their growth and development.
