BREAKING: Tension In Lagos As Gunmen Kill Naval Rating

Following the murder of a navy officer, there is unrest in the Ajegunle neighbourhood of Lagos’ Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Over the weekend, unidentified gunmen killed a navy rating known only as OS Harrison in the Ajegunle neighbourhood of Lagos State.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the killing and added that no one has been detained in connection with it.

Less than a year had passed since a female officer was allegedly killed nearby when the naval officer was killed.

The deceased naval officer was until the incident serving at the Lagos Logistics Depot of the Nigerian Navy.

A resident of Ajegunle, who pleaded anonymity, while speaking with newsmen said “We still live in fear. We heard that his colleagues want to avenge his death.”

“The naval officer was walking around Olowojeunjeje area of Ajegunle when he was shot by unknown people. Some people said the killers were cultists.”

Police spokesperson confirmed the incident to news men adding that “Investigation has started but nobody has been arrested yet.”
