Pastor Runcie Mike, a well-known Nigerian preacher who was the Lead Pastor of The Evening Church in Uyo, has died.
According to sources, the church’s leadership verified the news on Saturday evening.
Pastor Mike, who held a burial ceremony on Friday, died on July 1st, 2023, after a brief illness.
The church conveyed their condolences and asked the body of Christ to pray for and assist the grieving family during this difficult time.
“In this time of grief, we enjoy the body of Christ to hold us up in prayers and most especially, His immediate family,” the church leadership stated.
The sudden demise of Pastor Mike left members and friends shocked, prompting them to express their grief on social media.
Debbie Iteh shared a video of Pastor Mike at the burial service he officiated on Friday. She wrote, “I have never witnessed an officiating minister so deeply moved during a funeral service for one of his church members whom he laid to rest yesterday (Friday).
When I saw this video, I sensed that something troubled his mind at that moment, causing such overwhelming emotions. Today, the saddening news of his passing spreads across social media. The same person who officiated a burial yesterday has passed away today.
People are truly enduring immense struggles without being able to confide in even those closest to them. May God have mercy. Rest in peace, Pastor Runcie Mike. May your soul be blessed.”
