  • The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State has nullified the victory of Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party (LP) in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State
  • The tribunal ruled that the Labour Party did not properly support Okolie since he was not a party member as of the date of the primary election
  • As a result of the ruling, the tribunal declared Hon. Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the election

Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party (LP), who was proclaimed victorious in the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State in February, has had his victory deemed invalid by the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which is located in Asaba, Delta State.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the Labour Party candidate was declared winner of the February 25, 2023 federal legislative elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He defeated his closest challenger and sitting congressman, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who received 33,456 votes, and Tony Nwaka of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 11,712 votes, to be proclaimed the winner with 53,879 votes.

However, the tribunal determined that Hon. Ndudi Elumelu had won the election in its ruling.
