The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has expressed satisfaction with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume‘s, “purposeful take-off” of duties.
Speaking at the forum’s 2023 third quarter meeting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Wednesday, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, the chairman of the forum, said that as someone from their zone (North Central), they would galvanise all kinds of support for Akume to succeed, adding that he is already demonstrating quality leadership.
The chairman urged the SGF to be focused, purposeful and focused on his mandate and not to be distracted by anything from any source.
He stated that part of their meeting agenda is to deliberate on those from the North Central zone who have already been appointed by President Bola Tinubu and those who will be appointed and then encourage and support them in any way they can.
He stated that the position of SGF is strategic due to the magnitude of the functions and responsibilities attached to that office. The president believes in Akume’s abilities for that position, demonstrating that his achievements, tenacity, political experience, and sagacity have not gone unnoticed.
Zazzaga urged the SGF to build on his best and most outstanding performance as a former governor, senator, and other positions he has held well and to bring his wealth of knowledge to bear to move the country forward.
He stated that they would be looking for any miscreants from Akume’s home state of Benue, the North Central, or the country at large who wish to undermine his office and interfere with his responsibilities.
