  • A military source confirmed that the rescue of kidnapped students was successfully accomplished due to swift response to distress calls by the troops.
  • Earlier on Wednesday, terrorists invaded the University and stole all medications found at the university clinic.

Four abducted Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) students from Zamfara State have been freed by the Nigerian military.

Recall that the students were taken hostage by terrorists on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the early morning hours from their off-campus flat in Sabon Gida in the Damba neighbourhood of Gusau Local Government Area of the North West state.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist located in the Lake Chad region, claims that Operation HADARIN’s soldiers saved the students.

The rescue was successful, according to Makama, who cited a military source, because the troops responded quickly to the terrorists’ kidnapped students’ distress calls.
