  • The outbreak started at the residence in highbrow area of Asokoro in Abuja in the afternoon
  • Security operatives and fire fighter are at the scene of the incident.

On Sunday afternoon, a fire completely destroyed the private residence of Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The No. 9 Justice Roseline Ukeji Close in Asokoro was found to have nothing salvageable, and fire crews were said to have been reluctant to react.

The media assistant to the minister, Mr. Austine Elemue, has not released a formal remark regarding the incident.

According to The Nation, he was contacted and confirmed the incident and said the cause of the fire outbreak was still being investigated.
