  • Alhaji Yunusa had a distinguished career in the Native Authority (NA) Administration, starting as a dispenser at Nasaru Dispensary, Ningi, from 1953 to 1958.
  • He served in various capacities, including as a member of the Ningi Emirate Council (1956-1960), Councilor of the Medical and Health Department (1958-1959), and District Head and Chiroman Ningi in 1959.

The Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, has passed away.

He was a highly respected monarch who died on Sunday in Kano, where he had been receiving medical attention for age-related health issues.

The late Emir will be laid to rest on Sunday evening at 4 pm, following a funeral prayer at the Emir’s Palace in Ningi.

The announcement of his passing was made by the Emirate’s Secretary, Alhaji Usman Sule.

Alhaji Yunusa was a distinguished traditional ruler in the North East Geographical Zone.

He was beloved by his subjects for his fairness, justice, and equity. During his tenure, Ningi transformed from a rural community to a modern town.

Born in 1936, Alhaji Yunusa began his education in Ningi and later attended schools in Bauchi and Kano. He pursued further studies at Ahmadu Bello University and earned a diploma in public administration.

Alhaji Yunusa had a notable career in the Native Authority Administration, holding various positions, including dispenser, councilor, and district head.

He later worked in the private sector, holding managerial positions at the Nigerian Tobacco Company and the Northern Nigeria Marketing Board.

He was crowned Emir of Ningi in 1978 and elevated to first-class status in 1998. Alhaji Yunusa played significant roles in various organizations and served on several boards.

He received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to national development.

Alhaji Yunusa traveled extensively and enjoyed horse riding, farming, and traveling.

He was happily married and blessed with twenty-four children.
